Valve Cover question
I was sandblasting away at some old valve covers before I realized there is a tin splash shield or guard on the underside of the LS valve covers. Now I have glass bead behind the shield, is there any good reason I shouldn't be able to remove this shield to clean it out and leave it off? The last thing I want is glass beads in my engine...
Thanks

Update, so i am finding out this is more commonly called the PCV baffle and shouldn't be removed. However, I am running the LS6 PCV system so the better questions are:
Should I be concerned with excess oil since the passenger valve cover tube on the front connects to the TB for fresh air?
Can I just block this tube off with the LS6 PCV setup?
