Default LS3 with 6.200 rods?

I snapped the timing chain in my LS3 and now I'm finally going forged. Of all the things to break on the stock bottom end, I didn't expect it to be that. My engine builder recommended doing a 6.200" rod. Are there any other folks here running that rod on a stock stroke? Livernois stage 3 LSA heads going on top with hollow stem intake valves and inconel exhaust valves. 227/243 .619/.600 115+4 Lunati cam. Ti trim Vortech head unit running 10% overdriven.

The build:

Race Tec 4.07 -4cc Pistons w/ tool steel pins
Total Seal AP rings(steel top, napier 2nd)
Molnar 6.200" Rods
ACL Rod Bearings
ACL Main Bearings
Durabond Cam Bearings
Bore
Deck
Balance
Assemble

As long as the compression height of the piston is meant for that rod length, I don't really see a problem. Should be fine.

It will be fine, it gives you a C.D. of 1.229" with a 9.240" deck@0

The pistons are being built for that rod length.

why not just run a 6.300 rod and use an off the shelf 4 inch stroke piston from any manufacturer. cheaper and get parts faster. unless its some type of purpose build

The 6.200" Molnar rods are only $569 and the pistons are $730. I thought you could only get the 6.300" in something fancy like the Callies I-beam or Oliver? Randy at Racetec said he would rather modify a stock stroke piston for my needs rather than modify a 4" stroke piston. It will only take a couple of weeks to get the pistons. From what my machine shop told me they average about 2-3 weeks on custom piston orders. I'll probably still be waiting on Vortech to get my blower back to me from the Ti upgrade even after the motor is done.

Going through this same thing right now, is race tec the only company doing pistons for this app?

I'm 99% sure Eagle has 6.30" SBC rods that can be used in an LS, but you would just be reducing the piston compression height. That would be fine in an NA build since it would result in a lighter piston, but for a power adder, I'd probably just keep it simple and use a readily available 6.125" rod and a shelf piston.
