Default Flycutting pistons???

Once I get the tool how hard is it to flycut my pistons. Short block is already assembled so this would be happening with them in the block.

Thanks

I have the tool and its pretty easy really. You just need to be careful to not have the pistons to deep into the bore or you risk scoring the cylinder walls.

I have both intake and exhaust cutters - PM me if youre interested in buying them. I only cut 4 pistons so they are pretty much brand new.

thanks,

Yes, as mentioned above, it is easy but you really have to careful when cutting. Make sure you set the stop at the correct and desired position before cutting. Then, let the tool do its job, i.e., let it spin and just lower the cutter to touch the piston, little by little. Finally, let the weight of the drill/tool just sit at the stop and it should spin freely. Done. Good luck.

Just use some tape around the gap between the piston and the cylinder wall and put some grease around the outside to catch most of the shavings

I tapped up the entire deck surface and punched a few holes out for some head bolts. This way there was no chance of metal getting between the pistons/rings/sidewalls.

+1 ^^
I forgot to mention it, and cut off the tape where you will be flycutting. I was actually looking for a pic of it I took during the flycutting I did.
