Default LQ9 swap

I bought a lq9 that was taken apart. I am going to get the block cleaned before putting it back together and buy new bearing and rings. The crank has a little bit of surface rust; Whats the best rout to deal with that and should i get the block honed since i'm buying new rings? Also What rings and main/rod bearing would you suggest.

P.s- In the process of doing a LT to Lq9 swap. Which cam will yield the most power the LS6 or LS3 cam. I have pretty much everything and only 700 into the swap.
