VVT Cam Phaser vs Dual Springs

VVT Cam Phaser vs Dual Springs
There seems to be inconsistent info on whether or not the VVT Phaser (specifically the ones in L99, L92, and L9H engines) can handle Dual Springs.
Texas-Speed offers their VVT cams with Dual springs, but Mast Motorsports only uses Single beehive springs.
According to what I've been able to pick up. Some people are saying that the oil pressure in the phaser is insufficient to move the cam against the spring friction
Which is the truth? Can those of us with VVT run dual springs or will our VVT be crippled?

I had a 2011 6.2 silverado that had a pat g spec'd vvt cam in it. I had installed a set of PAC beehive springs(1218's IIRC) on pats recommendation because he had said that the pressure from dual springs may limit the phasers ability to adjust the camshaft accordingly.

Considering TSP is getting around 100 hp from their vvt-3 cam it doesn't sound too crippling. I just installed their vvt-4 but its not up and running yet.
