Default Engine noise

I have a stock 99 ls1, has 95000 miles. Before I installed the motor I changed the oil pump and timing set. I have put about 4000 miles on the motor since the swap. I was on my way home from Power Tour, when I started the car sunday morning it rattled like crazy. I left it running and after about two minutes it quieted down and I drove it home. Went out this morning, started it and it made the same noise. I shut it off and left it. I am running Rotella T6. This is my first LS motor. Any ideas?

Pop the valve covers off and have a top end inspection. Its difficult to see a broken valve spring with the rockers on so might as well remove the rockers too ( keep track of order ). Check pushrods for straight and rocker trunions and post up your findings

Pulled a cover this AM and started the motor. It appears that the rockers aren't oiling. I am going to pull the motor rering it and put in bearings and lifters.
