looking to build an engine for a rock bouncer project i need the most torque i can get out of an engine im looking at lq9 or a l92 just need your opinion on what combination will be best

I think KCS was suggesting you use the heads that came with the LQ9 (Cathedral port 317's) because they have smaller ports vs. L92 square port heads.

it all depends on Budget... H/C/I stock engine size or a stroker with some work done.

Budget is Key..

Well then wouldn't the L92 with 317 heads work better? More cubes and smaller ports.

There are a # of ways 2 get TQ.. Even with L92's , Cam choice! Also the max RPM U intend on seeing. You still will have 2 come back 2 your Budget.

well i have a place i can get used parts pretty cheap so i can get a lq9 or a l92 pretty cheap than i have about 3000 to upgrade which ill build it myself thanks yfor the input guys

well a stroker will be around 8+6+8 = 22hundred 4 crank/rods/piston and nothing else @ my shop prices.
Cam & Heads ported will be best 4 your budget.

Almost forgot about You... Either will work... hit up Martin@ Tick cause either 1 of them NEED the cam... 4 max TQ he could help with your choice some like Cathedral..while some like Rec. ports.. but either will work with the right cam. I like the newer style L92 heads myself, more room 4 when you Grow to more cubic inches.
