Default Anyone remember any good tutorials for setting up shaft mount rockers?

I'm just getting ready to install some Comp Cams shaft mounts on some ETP heads I have, but the directions don't go into a ton of detail. This is my first time setting up a shaft mount system and I want to make sure I do it right. This set comes with a little setup tool that braces against the side of the valve, so I had my machinist remove a few valve springs for me to work with.
I don't see much for setup tutorials on Comps website, or any good links on Youtube. Do any of you have any good links or info to help me? I'd really appreciate it.

The tool is used to reference the valve tip height. You'll need the correct pushrod length checker (around 8.100), a checking spring, locks & retainers, and something for marking. If you need help I'll be happy to help and I have experience with ETP heads as well.

After finding out how much shimming these were taking, it was discovered that they were the wrong rockers for the heads. I'll try again in a few weeks when the right ones show up. Thanks though

How much shim did you need? Tell us more about the setup. Why do you think you have the wrong rockers?

I have ET Performance 245 heads. I talked with Comp and their tech said their LS1/LS6 rocker setup would work. I used their installation/setup tool and followed the instructions, and I wound up needing to shim up the rocker stand all of .25" (yes, a quarter inch). I talked with T&D machine which makes the rockers for Comp, and he says the rockers I needed were designed for RHS heads and would work on these. The base stand is designed thicker and there is an offset built into the rockers to allow more clearance for the pushrods in high lift setups.

Ok. I have the same heads but I'm using Jesel rockers. There is a set of shaft rockers from Comp Cams made by T&D for the ETP 215-245 heads. The 255 & 265 use a different setup.

It's funny we're actually running the same head. Comps LS1/LS6 rockers WILL NOT WORK. Screw the stands, I currently have Harland Sharp rockers on their special size stands for my ETP heads and have not been happy by this modified setup. These heads were originally designed to be ran with shaft mount rockers, even though you can use the ETP rails with stock rockers.

The correct Part # from Comp Cam is #1509. It is currently discontinued. However, I called comp and they are having a few sets made. The shaft mount rockers are actually made by T&D which is why they are discontinued; ETP doesn't make the head so T&D quit making the rockers.

Jesel wants $2,220, T&D wants $1,250 and Comp wants $1,100 for the #1509 which are reboxed T&D rockers. He told me 6 weeks, it's been close to 6 months of them pinging my bank account.

Any luck on you getting your rockers? Mine just showed up today.
