Default LSX block rear cover seal?

I just noticed the other day that the rear cover seal for my LSX block is a thin rubber string which goes in a groove on the cover should that be installed dry and should i glue it to the cover first before installing so it dont fall off when installing?

Yes its good to use light grease to make it stick in the groove and install it with the block off the engine stand

If you are re using a old one, make sure its still good,if it dose not stick past the groove when installed, its time to get a new one

Critical high pressure area, the two engine side are connected around the rear and sees full pressure, in my case 73 plus psi @ wide open throttle.

I use light silicon in the groove to be sure it will hold seal and stay in place no matter what.
