What are you doing with the DOD holes? Most guys i've talked to suggested tapping those holes with a 1/8-27 npt tap (rather then relaying on the orings in the valley cover) to be sure they are and stay completely sealed.
I just turned my block upside down on the engine stand and drilled them out with a 11/32 drill and tapped them.No worries about getting metal shavings in the block this way.

Almost 9" PR!? sheesh. You're running the small bore ls7 heads correct?
I'm running 11/16 .120 Mantons. I would definitely go with a 3/8 tapered minimum for yours. I'm unsure how much bigger you'd be able to go with the mast heads.

Thanks guys. And yes, I'm running the MAST LS7 265 11*med.bore heads, and it's what MAST calls them. I suppose they are considered small bore LS7's in general.
I will get in touch with Martin@Tick and ask what he'll suggest Monday.
The pair of pushrod checker came in via Fedex from Jegs. I will start measuring tomorrow.

Wow, this MAST LS7 head and Morel 5425 lifter combo is going to require some long *** pushrods. I used a Comp pushrod checker that I previously used on my LT1, and practically bent it due to full extension. So I have to order a new set of checker, which I just did just now. It looks like its going to be in the 8.800"-8.900" or so length. That's a big difference from stock length 7.400".

When you call Manton Al will go over details of your engine and what kind of driving, rpm, etc. and he will tell you what you need. I didn't expect to need Series 5 but he said better safe than sorry and you don't want any deflection so that's why he recommended Series 5 for mine.

Well the push rod length checker I ordered was the wrong size. They sent me 8.800"-9.800". I wanted 7.800"-8.800". Or maybe I ordered it with the incorrect part numbers. I should have the right ones in a few days.
I checked it with the 8.800" checker right off the bat, and it's still a bit too long.
