ls3 2010 camaro...safe power level..boosted
What is a safe power level these engines will handle under boost via turbo?? I figured like any other ls 650rwhp or so??? Not asking about the irs or trans.
Id like to run 9.90s in a gen5 camaro not gutted. Fwiw

I don't think you can run 9.90's in a Gen5 "safely" on a stock engine. But good luck an update the results when done.

ECS pushes their supercharged LS3 setups pretty far. Some into the high 700's+
I have a LS3 in my C5 with only ARP headstuds and rod bolts. Hasn't been on the dyno but it traps 151+ and runs consistent 5.7's @ 121+ in the 1/8.
Tune and fuel/octane is EXTREMELY important when it comes to stock internal engines. I am on E85 running a S480 turbo @ 12.5psi and feel comfortable saying its making around 800whp

700-750 with a good tuner and good supporting mods. With an automatic your goals might be attainable. There is a C6 LS3 auto that comes to my work(was on the dyno last night) that runs 9.90's on drag radials, with about $3k in parts and a 200 shot. A gen5 with the same mods would be about a half second off due to the weight. If you nailed the combo and got a perfect run it would be possible to get in the 9's.

750RWHP on my 2010 LS3 with the ECS kit and boost turned down to 12psi. No 1/4 times...yet. I am in the midst of a 4L80E swap. I will probably turn the boost back up to 15psi (was 850RWHP through the TR6060 and 9" rear).
I agree with the post above that said maybe with an Auto but unlikely with a stick. Very few high horsepower 5th gens with a stick in the 10's let alone the 9's.

ARPs in the engine, good heagaskets like LS9, good fuel and a good tune and it should handle that power like it was designed to.
Although at those boost levels, even the slightest *hiccup* whether in the fuel delivery or tune and it's bye bye engine. So while it may last, you have very little room for error. A quality wideband and fuel pressure sensor are a must.

Yea i seen that manuals are always slower but when i see vids of them. I see some sad driving and slow shifting out of every one of them i have seen vids of. Two steps not used so no boost at lauch etc... is always a factor. I am confident i can run much closer to an auto than most others have with a manual. Besides the fun factor of banging gears is my main attraction to the camaro.
