If you do a stroker kit with all forged parts....is it then considered forged or is there more to it?

most factory parts are cast, aka liquid metal poured into a mould

forged parts are machined from a solid block

If all parts are forged then it's totally forged...Some parts forged = partially forged

with all forged parts
If you put in "all forged parts" then doesn't it stand to reason that it's a "fully forged engine"?

Ussually better to just buy a forged short block (erl, tsp, ect) vs. doing a ls2 forged internal stroker build? Looking for 550-600 whp f/i build....

Billet parts are machined from a solid block, Forged parts are not.

Forged parts start out as solid piece but then are struck while the metal is almost molten hot.
Here is one simple definition
Forging is the application of thermal and mechanical energy to steel billets or ingots to cause the material to change shape while in a solid state.

Then you also can have powdered metal parts. Powdered metals of different alloys are mixed then put into a mold and then put under extreme pressure and heated.

Nope there are no forged blocks. Only things that count towards a "forged engine" is the rotating assembly aka pistons, rods and crank. Get those forged and you have a fully forged engine.

Thanks. Ballpark pricing on ls2 402 stroker build vs short block purchase? Which is more cost effective?

There are way too many variables to give pricing. Your block could need more machine work than originally anticipated. Are you assembling it yourself? What parts will you be using? What parts are used in the assembled shortblock?

The list goes on.
