Default LS7 in a LS6C5 help/advice please

Hi I picked up a LS7 shortblock with LS7 intake and throttle body. No heads or other parts.

Goal: around 550whp for road racing.
Plan to run a LXL lobe cam in the 234/238 range...

1. Heads?
LS7 or LS3? What the prise and performance difference? I've been told LS3 will fit and make better power under the curve? Is that true?
Should I stick to a 1.7 rocker ratio for better reliability?
2. Oil pan?
Will my LS 6 batwing fit?
What els should I look into for this built?

Depends on a lot of things
1) wcch has had good luck with their ls7 heads
2) do you plan on keeping the dry sump or converting to wet?
