Question push rod length help! doesnt seem right...

ok here is the set up. just got a forged 408 lq4 from ATK and i put some lsa heads on it with some ls9 head gaskets and have the stage 4 turbo cam from tooley. im running johnson link bar lifters from tooley also and im counting 14.5 turns on my comp cam 6.8 length checker for zero lash . with a .075 pre load im getting a 7.6 push rod, does this seem right. just seems way long unless these lifters are set different then im use too. im measuring cylinder 1 with cam gear at 12:00 and it measured the same on intake and exhaust valve. let me know what you think or if im just over looking something stupid.
