CRYOFREEZING LS2 INTERNALS FOR NITROUS 250shot
My understanding is that the a stock bottom end ls2 is good for a 150 shot of nitrous. My gto is just shy of 120,000 miles. So far no signs of engine wear or oil consumption. Oil pressure is at 32psi warmed up.
Ive had my t56 gears cryo treated for extra strength. And there are companies that will do the same for engine internals. I did the math and the savings of cryo vs going forged internals is 35% roughly. I will rebuild the ls2;224r cam, ported/cryo treated heads, 12:1 compression pistons, cryo piston rods, cryo crank, cryo valvetrain (pushrods, springs, valves).
The nitrous will be fed via a direct port fast system. I am still undecided on whether or not to have it all at once or go 2 stage. But note that the nitrous will be tuned and used only with e85 fuel since its much more detonation resistant. I think this way the cryogenic freezing treatment will be able to hold this power
