Default Main stud?

So i installed my windage tray after i modded it to fit around the ARP 234-5608 studs i looked up the torque value for the new larger tray nuts and i could have sworn i seen 54ft lbs and that is what i torqued them too! I happen to look again and i see they only call for 28lbs i know the sutds will not be a issue but should i worry about the nuts or loosen them and retorque?

If this is just for the nuts that hold the tray, I'd loosen them. That much torque will prolly smoosh the holes out in the tray..
