At what point are tool steel wrist pins recommended?
Basically, how much HP can the wrist pins take that come with (lets say wiseco) forged pistons?
I have no huge HP # in mind, but I'm building a 402 at 10.2:1 all forged, So (conservatively) 600 FW HP......That I later plan on procharging and sending 12-14psi at with a goal of 800 WHP.
So should I upgrade to the tool steel pins? Or will I be fine with what comes with the pistons? Chromoly I think?
Thanks!

It's not really black and white. The default pins may work, depending in the wall thickness, but a tool steel pin isn't much of an investment for peace of mind. I would think 800whp would be okay with a good tuner and a well designed piston, but I would want to put in at least a heavier wall pin, like in the .200-.230" range if not in tool steel.
