Default Ls3 G8 Gt Cam swap issues

I just recently completed my cam swap, I followed all steps carefully. At first start it cranked right up and sounded good no knocking or major ticking, then I noticed no oil pressure, I reved it a bit to see if that would help and it did... oil pressure jumped up, but then went back down when Iet off, I then backed the car out and decided to drive down the street, got half a block down and felt car lose power and did not let me accelrate then I noticed it went into power reduce mode or limp mode as some say, and so I limped back home about 100yrds away, there was no knocking noises just a rough idle, I understand that I may have pinched the o ring on the pick up tube to oil pump causing no oil pressure but would no oil pressure cause my car to go into limp mode? Btw this is what was installed... Cam motion 226/232 .626 .626 113+3, btr .660 springs, 7.400 push rods, 3 bolt 4x timing gear with chain and dampener. Any helpful info would be greatly appreciated

You may have more than one issue.

Fix the oil pressure problem first. Yes, it can cause limp mode. So can dozens of other things that affect engine performance; primarily anything relating to the throttle body and/or torque calcuation. Limp mode can also be triggered by installing a larger cam without the required PCM tuning.
