Default Reluctor Wheel

Hey guys I am gonna starting assembling my 408 stroker in a few days and have been looking at some new cranks. I seen that some cranks have different reluctor wheels. Why? Why do some have 24-teeth and others have more? Whats the difference? And which is better? Thanks!

Better put your flame suit on, quick... It depends on the ECM that you are running. I believe GM changed over from 24 tooth to 58 tooth in 2004 with the GTO being the only exception (has 24 tooth through 2006). If you have a f-body you want a 24 tooth. Lingenfelter sells a conversion box so 58 tooth will work with the earlier ECM. Neither is better or worse so just use the one that your ECM will read.
