Excellent news. I know I am being optimistic, but wouldn't it be great if the online dealer/sponsors were selling the LS2 block for the same price as the 6.0L truck block?

With a LS2 block, LS6 heads, and Eagle stroker combo, you could have one hell of a motor setup for under $4k.

Some questions:

1. You say the heads/manifold from a current LSx motor will bolt onto the LS2, but will the heads/manifold bolt onto a LSx motor?

2. There has been some speculation that the new LS2 head has a raised intake runner and the new manifold will not match correctly to the old LS6/LS1 heads. Is there any truth to this?

The LS2 manifold has the same intake port openings. Main diff is the 4 bolt 90mm TB. The fast 90mm TB bolts right on. On a 346 road race engine on engine dyno peak hp went from 523- 540 with LS6 manifold to LS2. The LS6 was a std 85mm TB.

The cam sensor is in the front cover, not sure if this can wire to old PCM but given time there must be a solution.

The crank sensor is in same position but the trigger wheel may be 60X instead of 24X.

The big secret seems to be the heads. Heard they could be 3 valves? They have to have awesome flow. I saw a LS2 dyno graph a few days ago on this site I think, and the low/mid power was insane. Looked to peak close to the LS6, but the power under the curve looked like a 4** ls1 lol. Guess we'll find out soon. I wonder if it will have a good forged bottom end. Haven't heard anything about that, it would be nice for a change. The C6 should be a blast to drive.

Thanks for the good info Kurt. It helps knowing that it comes from a reliable source.

Is the ETC throttle body on the C6 electrically compatable with current C5 TBs or new truck TBs?

Big Tex,
Just got back from Dallas for the power tour kick off( had to fly in and change a lifter that broke in a customers engine).
The ETC on the LS2 has the TPS built inside. There is only one plug coming out the side. There may be a way to adapt in the future. The only one I have right now is down at Futral's shop for some dyno testing, I will check it out when it gets back.

Thank you for the update. I'm hoping the LS2 TB is compatible with the current truck's setup.

Please, both of you stop saying this stuff. They are NOT 3 valve heads(coming on the C6 Z06 model, rumored to be LS7 designation) and Dave Hill has personally confirmed all the information on the LS2 2 valve heads. The heads are not LS6 heads either. As GM printed and release material states, the LS2 heads are based on the LS6 design with IMPROVED airflow and revised runners. This LS6 rumor comes from several prototype C6s that are rumored to have had the current LS6 engine installed(not confirmed and apparently one C6 was photographed well enough to see the LS6 casting number, though....).

The 3 valve heads are rumored for the 2006 Z06 (or whatever they call it.)

All TBs '97-'04 are 75mm. The MAF Sensor from '01-'04 is what is 85mm

Sweet. LS2 block, 4" stroker kit will make a nice square 408 (right?). Some AFR 225s and LS2 or Fast 90mm intake manifold and we're gonna be seeing some BIIIIIIG numbers.

I'm waiting till I can get 500rwhp with a mild cam and stock cubes though. Shouldn't be too hard, seems AFR used their 205s with a 224 on a stock displacement setup and hit 470rwhp.

Can you get the throttle body to work for F-bods? I would be interested in the LS2 intake and T-body combo if the price is not too high and the gains decent.

The 90mm FAST throttle body is a bolt on to the LS2 manifold.
