You could replicate on every other part and make even more power with the extra cubes.

It was great to meet you too Andrew. Everyone loved the old school machismo of your Cougar.

Sorry if it was mentioned already, but what was the lash set at? I would think with an aluminum block and heads, it would be pretty tight.

I welded up the exhaust and took the car out for a bit tonight. She is very strong and RPMs to the moon. A ton of fun to drive. The permagrin is stuck on my face.

I assume it's a Compstar crankshaft also?

Incredible numbers.... can't wait to see some results at the strip compared to the previous setup.

It seems that most intakes peak and hit a wall at around 6700/6800rpm. Do you think this is cam profile.. or this is simply the airflow limit of the heads/intake combo? Needs more carb?

Compstar crank and rods. CP Bullet pistons.

As for peak power capabilities. The ultimate limiter is the intake tract (heads and intake manifold). The square port stuff has a lot more cross sectional area than the cathedral port, so its ultimate capabilities are much higher. The Dart LS3 heads raise that even further. Also, the square port Victor Jr. is a lot larger than the cathedral port manifold. This engine could easily peak even higher with more duration. A square port Super Victor would let this engine peak even higher.

you did good on that build. got a nice crack to the exhaust. Makes me want to put a carb on mine!

I see you have 8 coil packs. What is your computer setup or how to you control spark?

edit: just saw the first frame of your video.

But what about the weak low end dead spot that everyone says these square port heads have?

LOL! I have not found that yet. I have a tight nitrous converter and there is more power than the drag radials can handle on the street at anything below 40 MPH.
