LS Oil Pump Pickup Tube Brace / Girdle
A pinched or improperly seated oil pickup tube O-ring can allow the oil pump to suck up air, resulting in oil pressure drops and oil starvation. This is common a occurrence in the GM LS engine family, as the pickup tube is secured on only one side by a single screw.
Improved Racing now has a brace available that uses the extra screw hole on the oil pump to ensure an equal clamping force is exerted on both sides of the pickup tube flange. Priced at only $24.00, the billet aluminum brace provides low-cost assurance that your oil pickup tube will stay in place and leak-free lap after lap.
We consider this an essential little part for improving the reliability of any engine build.

Ok, it does indeed work with the muscle car pan pickup tube. It will work with most pickup tubes as long as there isn't a bracket or a large weld on that side of the flange.

Just ordered this.
My pickup tube is not going in straight (with the double roller, the pump is spaced out) and when I had the motor out of the car, I could really get it right. But now that I swapped cams in the car, I had to drop the pan and pull the pump to get the double roller chain out. So this will really help apply even pressure to both sides to compress the o-ring properly.

Because our clamp does not require you to remove the existing oil pickup tube bolt, in most cases you can install it without removing the oil pan or pickup tube by just removing the front timing cover to access it. Some pickup tubes may be trickier than others to get a wrench on the bolts. Also, be careful not to drop the bolt in the pan!

It's M6 x 1.00 mm, 20mm long. But if you did get at least one of the bolts, you can reuse the factory bolt on the pickup tube side.
