Default LS3 based 416 : GT11 or GT12?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a camshaft advice here, I have a LS3 based 416 with GM LS3 cnc heads and a FAST 102/NW 102 intake combo and a 1 7/8 Dougs LT headers with a 4L60E and a FTI 3000 rpm converter, my current cam is a custom grind cam with 239/250 @.050 0.620/0.596 lift, 113+3 LSA, but I really don't like it because it has more lopey idle than what I like and it drives awful at any speed under 40mph, so I decided to tame it a little bit by swapping in a more street friendly cam, and I came across these two cams, I hear good things about the GT11 but I feel its small compared to my cubic inches, thats why I lean more toward the GT12, what do you guys think?, again, my goal is to have a 650-700 rpm smooth idle and good powerband up to 6500 rpm.

I would do a custom cam for a stroker.

But if you MUST go with a Lingenfelter cam, the GT1-1 is better suited to a stroker than either of the two you listed.....and is still plenty mild enough for a daily driver. I have the GT1-1 in my Daily driver stock bottom-end LS3. It's lopey without having any hint of surging.

The GT21 cam is also called the LS7/Stroker Cam. I wouldn't consider this cam unless you were up around 12:1 compression and willing to deal with a VERY aggressive cam lope.

BTW....the GT11 is a mild upgrade for any stock bottom end.....wouldn't even consider it for a stroker.

KW

GT11 = 215*/231*, 118* + 0* LSA = -13* overlap with .631"/.644" lift

GT12 = 227*/235*, 115* + 0* LSA = 1* overlap with .631"/.644" lift

GT1-1 = 229*/241*, 114* + 0* LSA = 6.5* overlap with .631"/.631" lift

GT21 = 243*/259*, 112* + 0* LSA = 27* overlap with .653"/.663" lift

This is what I would recommend:

232/244 .620/.603 115+3

Your current cam has 18 degrees of overlap @.050. What I've recommended has 8 degrees @.050. It will make a large difference versus what you have now.

Thanks all for your great head ups, I got a free GT11 camshaft from a friend so I will just install it this coming weekend and see what it does.
