Default GMPP quality control !?

I bought a GMPP crate LS3 in Dec 2010. I only have less than 600 miles on it in that time because it was just one part of a complete car build and we all know that can take some time to finish. Flash forward to today.........Ive been working on a turbo build with the car (72 Camaro ) and decided to widen my piston ring gaps to be on the safe side. Don't want to blow up this 7K engine, right ? I get to the No. 7 piston, tap it out of the bore and NO SECOND RING ON THE PISTON !!!!!!! GMPP crate engine that has NEVER been apart is missing a freakin piston ring !
Anyone have any pull with GMPP to get this problem fixed ASAP ? Anyone got a ring laying around ? I just want to fix the problem and move on, but I'm still processing how I feel about it. I'm just PISSED about it at this point !

I got a free LS1 because it was using oil,
owner couldn't figure out why, he bought a 6.0
gave me the LS1 for helping him swap the
6.0 in, I pulled #4 piston out, just like yours,
never been opened, took his vin to dealership
got 1 ring package, good to go. So just saying
it happens.

It did run pretty good like that. Smoked just a little, but I always contributed that to poor fuel management by the Fast EZ EFI, ..........maybe now it wont smoke, once I pay 70 bucks to overnight a single ring pack from a GM dealer ! Life goes on. I just don't know how to explain to my son that I threatened to buy a "F" brand product in anger when I saw what happened, but I really didn't mean it,

Hey, 1 less ring = weight reduction.
Weight reduction = improved performance

Don't you know that's what that extra "P" in GMPP stands for - PERFORMANCE. They were just trying to live up to their name...
