I just purchased A low mileage 06 5.3 and plan on running a T-56 transmission in my 68 Camaro. What cam or cam package would you suggest I run??
Looking for best Performance of corse. The cars gonna be a almost daily driver with plans for occasional auto cross and hopefully some track days for fun.

For that type of use I would definitely recommend the stage 2 truck cam. 212/218 with a 112 LSA. In the 5.3l motor it provides an extremely broad power band so daily driving and auto cross use would match well. The cam is available in a .550 or .600 lift version. The .600 lift showed to make about 12 more fly wheel horse power, but will require a larger spring.

awesome thanks for quick response. My buddy put a 224r in a 4.8 and that's what he said I should get.
I am kind of new to motor work so I was just wondering what's the difference? And is there a better advantage in the 212/218 112LSA that you recommended? Then running the larger 224r cam.
And I just realized my motors a gen 3, if that makes anyndifference in the cam choice.

Kinglt-1 has it right on this one. the 224r would move the power band up to an area that IMO would not be friendly for auto cross.
You can reference this dyno we did for the 212/218 I was talking about. You can see where this camshaft will pick up power from 2500 rpm all the way to peak, we couldn't pull the engine dyno any lower then that.
