Ls7 lifters with ls2 tray stiff
Hi All,
Just finished putting the lifters in my Ls3.
They are Ls7 lifters with ls2 trays.
When I put the lifters in the trays they popped in with a bit of effort. Nice and firm. My question is, can they be too firm in the lifter tray!? Or will the strength of the spring push them in and out?
Also putting the four lifter and the tray into the lifter bores took a bit of wiggling before the went into place. I was worried about lifter and lifter bore clearance so I pulled a lifter out and put it individualy into the bores and it slid in. It was tight but still slid in, no wobble back and forth and I could still spin the lifter left and right. Is that clearance ok?
Thanks

All perfectly normal. The lifters will move up and down in the tray and be lubricated by oil. Also, a little bit of wiggling is normal to get all 4 lifters to line up.
As far as clearance, yours sound fine but it is a good idea to verify lifter bore clearance with an actual measurement.
