Can you bore an aluminum '05-'06 5.3 out to a 5.7?

Im building a forged 347 and I dont know if I should go with a used LS1 block or a gen 4 aluminum 5.3 block and have it bored?

I know the newer 5.3s had very thick liners but i also keep reading that you can only bore a IRON 5.3 to a 5.7??...but I also see Thompson Motorsports and other engine builders using a bored out aluminum 5.3 block and labeling it as a 5.7

any help is appreciated

kinda - but I didnt know if there were certain years that this could only be done with and I also read that you could do it with an aluminum 5.3 but you need to install new liners....lots of conflicting info out there.

Hi, the LS-1 GEN-III block, "early', is VERY WEAK.

My method is a GEN-IV 5.3 @ 98mm +.003" @ .105" wall thickness.
