Default Thoughts on a 408 LQ9

It's been a while since Ive dabbled in the LS realm. I was given a 1978 Ford F100. It's got a POS Ford motor (400ci). I recently purchased a LQ9 short block out of a 2004 Escalade which will go in the truck. 3 pistons grenaded so i basically just have the core. I want to do a 408 stroker. My question is, has anyone had personal experience with Texas Speeds forged rotating assembly? Also, what are your thoughts on using the 823 cast heads? Ultimately, id like to turbo this thing but not for a while probably. I want a solid short block and decent heads.

Thanks!

TSP has a good track record from I've seen. Contact them on discuss your goals and budget. I'd have the blocked checked out to be sure the pistons didn't damage the block too bad.

Their 408 R/A with the Lunati crank and rods looks good. Price isn't too bad either. The block is currently getting magnafluxed for cracks. There was a bit of gouging in 2 cylinders so I hope .0030 will take it out. I really don't want to re sleeve the blocK.
