Well, normally a crate engine direct from GM contains pistons...so I'm not sure what is mentioned here. Just as well, it can either contain the computer and wiring harness. Most have the option to either have them or not...you DO pay for them.

GM just recently changed the price, and it has gone up just a little. $13,395.00 is the new price. For what your getting it's still a good deal, and there are alot of people that will use this in a n/a car and it will work perfect. I feel like the people that will be wanting the complete motors will A. leave them stock, or B. just do a cam change. If you were going to go to the extreme of changing the pistons you could just start with a bare LS7 block. When parts start shipping we are going to have alot of different options!

KJ,
Bare maybe the best way and you guys make the spread on the assembly. I sure you guys will figure out a good combo.
The lighter/stronger crank and rods great. As well as the heads, valves, etc.
The problem I see for non vette crowd is that this going be fairly high dollar combo most of the F-body owners by the time you get all the goodies and do the fitted install... Your LS2 should be quite a bit less expensive. However, I think the LS7 is going to be the s... for the high-end custom hod rod crowd though.
