Default LS7 PCM & Harness

Until there is a specific location for this information, perhaps we should post what we think will work. My LS7 will be here tomorrow and going in the car next month.

PCM options:
BigStuff3
Accel DFI Gen 7

Harness options:
GM

The Delphi MEFI 4B may work as well. I don't know about the harness yet.

Thanks, Blink. It appears there are a number of companies that have an ECU and harness for the LS7 already available. All are using the Delphi MEFI-4B and pricing starts around $1,895. Some offer more than others with regard to software and programming. More info to come, but, this will be the path I take unless a sequential system becomes available. The MEFI-4B is a time-tested unit that suits my application (no specific ECU requirements). It may work well for swaps, too.

There were other Delphi dealers, too, but these were the folks that really seamed to know what they were talking about. They have LS7 installations running. Todd from Autigent was on his way to SEMA, but really offered extensive knowledge. They are also deeply involved with GM's racing program.

Do you have contact info for R & D dyno? some of the link above are not too clear about their goal. I want a controller that gets my LS7 running out of the box that I can tweak with some available software to make it run perfect with my combination. Not too picky eh?

Thanks!

LS7 PCM security was cracked today. The next step is to understand the programming. The vendor has asked to remain un-named, however they are well-known company. They say they'll be offering the PCM and harness in about 30 days. No pricing yet.

It's not a company that makes an ECU or a stock PCM re-programmer. They are simply tweaking the GM unit and will be selling it with the necessary programming for swaps. In my case, all I need is fuel and spark (and a descent power tune)...but, none of the body control, traction control, etc. is required for my "swap". This type of programming won't be good for a C6-Z06, but would be good for a C5 or F-body (I think). We'll have to see what they come up with...

Default Already been done, Modded OEM

The 2006 LS2 crate engines are already being run "stand alone" (put the LS2 engine package in any car) with GM OEM PCMs running Delphi 5 wire MAFs and aftermarket wiring harnesses, including running the 90 MM FBW Throttle body. Just not being done by GM people or GM marketers.

Other independent guys are frenzied out trying to be first with the right power MAP in a MEFI IV and wiring package for these motors, don't hold your breath and get ready to shell out for a cable operated 90 MM throttle body.

Which OEM PCM are you referring to?

Just curious
