Default LS7 Pilot Bearing

When installing my LS7 in front of a D & D Specialties 30 spline T56 I had an odd issue. The pilot bearing in the crank is a ball bearing and it appears to be too far to the rear. It is flush with the end of the crank not recessed some like the old Chevy engines. When I pull the pilot bearing out everything goes in fine. Anyone have this issue or is my transmission input shaft the problem? This an LS1 transmission with the 30 spline upgreade.

Thanks!

We tossed the original LS7 pilot bearing on our crate and installed the C5 LS1 needle style bearing. Worked out fine.

Same issue here and the LS1 bearing is the fix!
