Default Warhawk Update

Gentlemen,

On Mar. 31, I posted here to inform all interested parties on the true circumstances of the delays to the World Warhawk program. I advised you at that time, that we expected parts to ship by May 31.

At this time, a point 3 1/2 weeks prior to that date, it's now apparent that Warhawk will not be ready for distribution. We at World feel it's best to be square about this developing situation with all of you who have been enthusiastic and supportive throughout. Informing you ahead of the deadline, while painful, is only fair in our view.

These are the facts.

The "Brand X" over-runs described earlier were near totally resolved three weeks after I reported them to you. They have had a minimal impact on this current delay. All the tooling for Warhawk (designed entirely by us), has been finalized and in place since my first post. The actual block and head designs have been completed to production level for that length of time also. I wrote that inspection and approval for production was near. In short, there was nothing more here at World to delay the situation. It's been out of our hands. It's the frustrating part for us.

In the case of the blocks, we've hit a scheduling "wall" at the foundry and machining centers which we believe will extend to mid-late August. We believe that heads may be sooner but we've no definite word on that yet.

Before some of you throw brake rotors at us, know this. WorldTech has gone through extreme manoevers and considerable additional expense to alter this situation. His anger and frustration exceeds any one elses', 'cause we'd rather be selling you this stuff than telling you our problems.

So at this time, there are no flow numbers, there are no mock-ups of stroker combinations and no complete, assembled combinations rattling our dynos - but that will come. Design work of the carb manifold continues as well as projects beyond Warhawk. We're still trying to get head data to the piston mfgs. as so many of you requested.

To those of you who thought "I told you so", flame away. We hate being the object of your scorn. To those who still feel this project is perfect for your application and remain patient, we appreciate your loyalty and assure you the parts won't disappoint.

I'll be back to post hopefully much better time news as it may develop.

Regards,

I think the LS1tech community understands the time it takes to develop top-notch products on the cutting edge of the industry. I doubt there will be any flaming here and if so, the true die-hards know how it is. I can see your frustrations with outside sources because all of us in the industry experience them.

All I can say is, press on. Everyone is in support of your efforts!

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Are you now saying it will be "mid-late August" before you even "start" production, and that is not even a firm date?

If it means anything to World Products, I dream about LSx engines everyday and in the next couple years when I get enough cash, Warhawk will still be at the top of my list for block and heads.

Hi Folks
Being the developemnt world (different product) I understand the steps to get things into a production state. I would rather wait to for a good product, then get something on schedule or early that has problems. get it right and all the issues resolved first. Also understand vendors that deliver late or so busy you can't get your job scheduled.

I don't mind at all. It just gives us poor, less fortunate people more time to save up.

Merlin Pro,
You folks are doing the right thing to be up front with people. In two years, you'll be remembered for your honesty and properly developing your product rather than taking short-sighted short cuts to get to market sooner. I am an engineer working with new product development in another industry. Delays, schedule conflicts, budgetary dilemmas are all part of the game. Hang in there!

All my best,

Steve

Anyone that works in the manufacturing industry will feel your pain. Its just a fact of business life, everyone has to rely on all the parties involved to pull their weight, and that rarely happens on schedule. Thanks for the honesty and updates, that is FAR more appreciative than a company that makes false promises or 'optimistic' delivery claims. We enjoy reality here.

looking forward to seeing these products come out, as we are all positive they will be a huge milestone product for the LSX racing community.

I think the only way to make it up to the LSx community is to give me a block and a set of heads for free

I can't wait to see what this block and head package is going to be capable of. Lucky for me I am not doing my build until winter.
