Default 427ci GMPP LS type block?

i read once about it in a thread and it was intended for like $2000. block bore is 4.125" and stroke is 4.000" and i guess it is close to LS1 style block. is there any thing new about this block?

thanks.

Not really...but I'm sure you'll see something at SEMA about it.

If it helps, a little bird told me that the GMPP price for the LS7 block is going to be dropping...

You don't happen to know by how much would you? $3175 for that block is outrageous. $2000 would be much more affordable and reasonable.

No info yet on how much of a drop. I think the $2000 figure is for the GMPP LSX iron block, not the new price for the LS7. But that may also be $2000 for all I know.

Don't hold your breath for a aluminum version of the GMPP LSX Iron Block.
My sources say that their priority is releasing the Iron version in March. Beyond that I don't see any plans to make a aluminum version. I will never say never though LOL. But not very soon if ever.

As several have posted, there are other aftermarket aluminum blocks ready to hit the market as we speak.

They would probably concentrate more towards heads to utilize the capabilities of the GMPP Iron LSX block.

Thanks

i predicted the ls7 price would drop as the new corevette ss/stringray/whatever motor will make a crate apperance. that motor should run 15grand i bet while the ls7 crate will lower to around 10-10.5g

OK I checked again, and it seems that most likely they will pop these things in Aluminum down the road. Look for it to be at least a year.
I will update as I hear more.

Robin,

In your honest opinion, do you think the price of the LS7 block will drop in price to less than the new GMPP block?

At this time pricing for the GMPP LSX block has not been determined. Based on a target price I would say ....no. As time goes on I would think they could get close.
Both are unkowns at this point. It really depends on where the dealers price both items.

Sorry to be so vague. I really don't want to guess at this time.
