Default Iron GMPP LSX block

Reading in the new GMHTP mag on the new GMPP Iron LSX block..... WOW.

Low 5XXcui range on the tall deck block that will be available. Think it was 511 cui IN A SMALL BLOCK!

Interesting on how they said you will be able to pull out like up to 30-40 pounds of weight depending on what you are building.... (its a heavy beast)

Very good read.

I think they said cost was the reason it ws in Iron, now if they could build one in aluminum with that strength for say 3-4k then there would be a market for it!

Heck the BRODIX aluminum BBC blocks go for about 4k.... not sure if those even have the 6 cylinder head bolts per cylinder either.

Aluminum 511cui LSX.... YUM!

Just read the new article myself in the brand new GM High-Tech Perf Feb mag and this KILLER new AFFORDABLE GM Performance LSX ironblock that is going to be offered in the spring by GM that will have a HUGE BORE of 4.25 inches and when matched with a crank of 4.25 inches will make for I believe 488 cubic inches and of course they are working on getting the displacement over 500 cubes no problem.

This block is 100% compatible with all your LSX components and will drop right in the engine bay of any LSX powerd GM vehicle. It also has 6 bolts for the HEADS (the norm is 4) allowing for those wanting to keep the heads on from flying off with HUGE BOOST. This block is going to be VERY AFFORDABLE at around $1,800 to $2,000.00 and what a KILLER WAY to make an EASY 600 to 650rwhp with a somewhat mild cam, Naturally aspirated, with the killer new GM HEADS on the market.

The only disadvange will be the extra weight penalty of 100 to 125 lbs on the front of the car but for someone like me who GIVES DARN when it comes to having that much power N/A on tap.

Although I love my D1SC Blown Z06 this will be enough for me to go back to a naturally aspirated motor which has always been my preference (especially for road racing) when if and when my stock Blown LS6 motor gives up the ghost. Of course the f/i induction crowd will also be salivating over this as GM is making this STRONG ENOUGH to handle between 2000 and 2500 FREAKIN HORSEPOWER!!

MAN, what a GREAT TIME to be a GM GEARHEAD!!!!!!!

I mean you could really build a killer indestructible motor on a low budget and have a perfect all bore motor by keeping your stock crank with its stroke of 3.62 matched up to this huge cylinder bore size of 4.25 and this would make for one killer ALL BORE motor, utizling the awesome and CHEAP L92 heads!

What how many cubes would you have with 4.25 cylinder bore and 3.62 stroke?

Thanks man, and with an inexpensive 4.00 forged eagle crank looking at 454 beatiful cubes and 482.3 cid with 4.25 crank for perfectly square KILLER RACING MOTOR.

Match with some great flowing CHEAP G92 Heads (worked over of course by a pro) you REALLY would have yourself a very affordable KILLER Big cubed LSX Motor. I LIKE IT!!!!
