Default Hand finished Vs. out of the box AFR 225.

I did a search but only found bickering and biased comparos over AFR Vs. the competition... Why does everyone love to hate the big dog? It seems the bigger you are the more of a target you become.

My question is does anyone have any figures of a hand finished AFR 225 head Vs. an out of the box CNC head? If so how do the two compare and is it worth the effort/exspense? Thanks.

Tony Mamo (the AFR rep here) went over this a long time ago. He mentioned the time, expense, and effort would be alomost pointless because the CNC process is so nice on the AFR's. If it were done, I'm sure the gains would be minimal. It's a great head right out of the box.

man,i had a set of ported ls1 heads from a well known sponcer on this site. the out of the box AFR's killed them on the dyno and big time at the track. tony did say hand finishing was not worth much.
