Questions about a 402 into an '03 Z06
Im contemplating swapping SLPs 402 cu in LS2 into my 2003 Z06. What all do I need in terms of sensor adapters and what all is involved with relocating the knock sensors to the side of the block? On Katech's web site, they list a knock sensor adapter, a MAP extension, an LS2 throttle body adapter, and LS2 fuel injector adapters. Are any or all of these required when doing the swap into an LS6 car? Also, on SLPs web site (http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=12526M) they say that the motor does not include "pans, plates, or covers". Im assuming that means an oil pan, valve covers, but what about the plates....or am I way off on all three? Im trying to put together an exact list of everything needed for the swap right down to the gaskets, spark plugs, etc. to get a good idea of how much this project will cost. Any thoughts, ideas, experiences, or part numbers is greatly appriciated.
Thanks
Thanks

For such a nice car, get a decent motor.
There are several vendors on here who are more than capable of turning out a great motor - check them out. There have been issues with SLP in the past and their customer service is lackluster at best.

As far as the Electrical, go with Katech they are the best. You will need the following.
Ls2 front and rear cover plates.
Ls2 vally pan
Ls2 Cam position sensor in the Ls2 front cover. Should come with one but make sure.
Use your old oil pan and windaged try if you want i did. I use all my old covers except the ones above that can not match the new 402.
I stayed with the old injectors they are easy to fit in the ls2 intake just get the Orings from Katech when you get the other stuff.
The cam postion sensor can give you a problem so make sure to get the Katech wires it is one of the best or you might be throwing the P0342 code that i did not fun.
Good luck Just pick a good engine builder it will pay off in the long run.
