The LS3 and the L92 use the same block. Aluminum 4.065" Bore.

Can't wait to see an LS3 block with everything done to it. h/c/exhaust and all boltons with a nasty tune. 530 + rwhp should be expected. How about a forged internal ls3 setup for a procharger or a turbo, maybe twin turbos ?? The possibilities are endless.

According to the Sept Chevy High Performance magazine about the L92 block in the new LS3;

"Through extensive R&D, GM powertrain has completely gone through the block and strengthened the bulkheads by 20% and will use them in the new truck line too.....the Vette and the trucks will feature identical part nunbers for their latest foundation".
That's good news for the high horsepower guys using this block and may make the current L92 block less desirable.

'the Vette and the trucks will feature identical part numbers for their latest foundation,' aka, L92 in Trucks and LS3 in Vettes are same block. 376 CI = 4.065" bore x 3.622" stroke

The LS2 is going to be ancient history by the time the 5th gen Camaro gets built .. it is in the concept car because that was the engine that was available at the time the concept car was put together ..

Isn't 12584727 the original L92? I think 1ORANGEWS6 means the new LS3 block which is "improved" from the old L92 block. It looks like the stronger LS3 block will be in all 08 6.2L's.

As mentioned above the Vettes and trucks will have the same block ..

Yep, I recon the "new" truck block is the L92 as opposed to the old LS2 style.
But hey the intake changed a little over the L76 so you never know.
