Default 454 LSX Buildup Photos Inside

Machinist is Late Model Engines. The goal here is not a fulltime track car, but a badass full weight, rollbar street car with A/C, power windows, stereo and decent idle.

600+ Peak RWHP horsepower and huge torque across the curve is the goal. Car should be completed in early August. The 235cc Trick Flows are designed to provide huge mid-lift flow, so this will impact the torque goal. Engine is built to handle existing NX nitrous system (after warranty expires).

Components include:
GM Bow Tie LSX 454 CID Block
Callies Compstar 4.125" Stroke Crank
Callies Compstar 6.125 Rods
ARP Studs
Wiseco forged 4.187" 9cc VP's
11.8/1 Compression
Cam Motion Custom Cam 25X/26X .64X" .62X" 112 LSA
Melling M295 Ported High Volume Oil Pump
LS2 Double Roller Timing Chain
Trick Flow 235cc Heads (4 bolts per cylinder)
Trick Flow Chromemoly Pushrods
Comp Lifters
Jesel Shaft Mounted Rockers
Ported F.A.S.T. 90 Intake Manifold
Nick Williams 90mm Throttle Body
American Racing 1 7/8 Stainless Headers
Magnaflow Custom Built True Duals
T-56 by Six Speeds Inc.
RAM Twin Disc Clutch
Aluminum Flywheel

Obviously more power could be cranked out of this engine platform, but again streetability was the deal here.

Pffft. Who even cares? Big freaking deal. Not like I'd buy one even if i had the money. Pfft. Stupid LSX block. Stupid paint job. Stupid 454 c.i.d. Stupid Callies crank. TFS heads and your huge mid-lift flow. 600 horse power. Pfft. Who needs all that power anyways? Probably just melt the tires and break **** anyway. i don't want one.

Yes the fast will be a restriction, but no he would not be better off with a sheetmetal. This is a street car and the loss of low end to him would not be worth the gain in topend HP. You will not see gains in a typical sheetmetal intake until 6K rpms plus.

I do think the Wilson Billet would be a huge improvement.

Is the Wilson Billet more of a FAST/LS design, but with some custom design mixed in to keep the low end torquehigh , but give a little more HP on the top end?

It is similiar to the Fast design, but it is billet aluminum. Wilson had a huge hand in designing the fast. think of it this way, it doesn't give up down low and it pulls much higher on top.

Plus it is the absolute sexiness in looks

I remember not too long ago one of the sponsors said they didn't pick anything up switching to the billet Wilson intake over a ported FAST. I think it was Katech although I could be mistaken.

No, Katech didn't pick up anything going to a Wilson over a LS7 intake. Not a fast. There have been several people pick up 30-40 and even more RWHP on the cathedral style stuff.

It looks like your pistons are proud of the deck. If that's the case, how far are they sticking out?
