Default L76 408ci will it make 600hp

I am building up a cast iron block 408ci engine, it will have about 11.5cr with l76 heads and manifold. a comp cam 252/256 108lsa with 630 lift on intake and exhaust. I am hoping it will make 600hp at the fly wheel do you guys think this set up will do it...

Look into your Cam..these Heads are liking Cams with higher LSA's..I got that from some research and from a couple of guys that spec out Cams.

I thought lsa had more to do with where you make power, than head selection

Ive seen 408's make 700hp with smaller cams than that. Heads were ported 225 darts but custom manifold was required and 110 octane fuel.

I think it will, but it will idle like a bear. Let me know how it worked out.

In a month I'll put ET 255 heads and the below cam on 1.8 rocker arms.
.631"/.631" lift, 250'/246' duration at .050, Centerline - 114'
Heads will be milled for 11.5 static compression.

It will do it. you don't need that much camshaft though. I made close to 650 with mine, being an iron 402 with our ls7 4.00 bore heads. Those L92 heads with a little bit of porting are pretty stout. My cam was mid 230's at .050 XER 114. It made peak power at 6900 rpm. 580 ft lbs. Granted the LS7 intake is a little better for the larger engines. I have seen the numbers you are looking for already.

The power is in the heads and cam choice.... The L92's are a great bang for the buck.... but if you have the $$$$.... I'd get some TF 225's, AFR 225's, ETP heads, or ETP LS7 heads and mate it up to the LS7 intake.

The LS7 intake is the only composite intake that doesn't hit a wall beyond 6800rpm. It pulls well into the 7,000rpm range. The FAST 90 and L76 intake hit a wall regarding flow in the upper 6K RPM range.

Paying attention to details will squeeze every ounce of power from your setup. One weak area will not allow the setup to truly shine.

There isn't a ton of data to choose a dead on camshaft yet for the L92 heads. There are plenty of people making big power with aftermarket heads as the cam selection has been nailed down.
