Default I need a Stroker Cam for my LS2 418cid.

I'm looking for a cam for my LS2 418cid. right now i have a
Comp 250/266-.630/.630-112 but it just don't have what I'm looking for it peek at 6700 rpms I want to crank a little higher and more power.Im looking for a less split ,like in a 248/254 range .I was looking at Thunder Racing sTRoker cam 248/254-.615/.623-110 its good to 7400 rpms but they are back ordered on them. I don't what the lift to be much higher than that because i run 1.75 Comp Pro Mag rocker arms these rocker brought my lift up to .650 on the cam i have right now. you can see in my sig what my engine is built with .Do any body on here have any suggestions. And plus i run nitrous.

You want peak power at 6700? How high are you going to run it?
How much rpm do you loose when you shift.
What power range are you looking for 6000-7400?
The Thunder cam that runs to 7400, is it solid lifter?

Im going to shift at 7400rpm. And it hydraulic cam. I went a head and ordered it,TR told me i should have it around the 6th of August. Here the cam that i ordered>> 248/254-.615/.623-110 and with my 1.75 Comp Rockers it raises the lift to .633/.641 thats were i want to be.

i would of thought that cam you have in there right now would pull as many rpms as the one you are ordering.going by the lift it looks like it's lobes is similar to xer lobes. my cam is 244/248 on a 110 on xer lobes and with 408 cubes it peaks @ 6000-6100 so that cam imo would probably peak around 6300-6400 i would think.
have you talked to patrick about cam selection ?

This is the specs on the Crane Cam that's in my car right now ,I been told by a few people that the split on the duration is a little high, And the motor seems to start holding back after 7000 rpms and the minimum rpms are 3700 rpm ,hard to drive in 6th gear at 55mph at 1800rpms,and the cam peeks at 6800 rpm so it looks like to me there is a short burst of power range in the cam shaft 3100 rpm. And the TR (sTRoker)248/254-.615/.623-110 the cams rpm range is 2400 to 7500 rpms. and the power range in the TR is 5100 rpms.

that's about the size i would think that would still pull over 7k. also one thing to remember let"s say a cam rated from say 3500-7500 may pull to 7500 in a 346 but will be out of breath before then in a bigger cube mill like a 408+.

I'd get a custom grind for something as specific as what you are wanting...

That cam is going to peak right around 6300 with a FAST 90. You're going to need something with a later IVC. Something like a Cam Motion 257/266 .642"/.621" 113+3 LSA would get you a 6700 RPM peak as the IVC is nearly 5 degrees later.

why 113+3? I run a 110+0 and my motor hasn't stopped pulling and we've had it to 7500.

not to jump subject but I think you will need a new clutch..your car sounds like a beast and I think a spec III won't hold it.....

The (spec stage III (+) holds 800+ hp, and has held for five months now with no problems at all but could go tomarrow.

To get the valve events optimal. With the FAST, you can overcam it and kill it, so you want the duration high but the IVC to be relatively in line with what the FAST requires.

You cam differently for a carb intake... something like a 257/266 would work great with a 106+2 or thereabouts.

See I went 10.17 with my ported Fast and my 258/262. Seemed to work O.K for me.
