edit: updated pics added to first post:
the last thread was deleted..... dont really know why...
Those with questions about fitting the GMPP Carb Intake under a stock hood..... you are almost gauranteed to have to trim the cowl. I have a 3/4 inch thick plate kit... the intake sits forward about 3 inches without cutting.
as you can see... thanks to the plate... serious cowl modifications and hackage is needed!
Here is a video as of Sept 1st.....
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...79094190&hl=en sounds like ***..... damn camera phone sucks!

Coming along nicely. Love the custom valley cover. Fills that ugly part nicely. Few questions for ya if you dont mind.
How much low end tq would a car create using the carb style intake compared to traditional intakes?
Was it more simpler to use after marke fuel rails?

Great what a little spray paint will do for the cover.
Its always easier to use factory stuff, but as you go for more power it will require aftermarket parts.
As far as low end torque, I dont think it will be an issue with the cubes.

Hopefully if all goes well.... we are going to start the car up today.
Pretty sure the car should be running by the end of the week. Still need a driveshaft to be made. Shifter, Tranny, LCA's etc are installed. Waiting on the rest of the suspension, some gaskets, and a huge powerwasher to clean the car!
Yamabond to help hold the heads down

430-480 rwhp
With the carb on a 300 shot it should gain 350rwhp. so maybe around 850 or so??

Billy..... found a pic of where Josh put the Stand Alone.
as far as the cam.... for now I "chose" to run just a standard 408 cam. Erik Koenig, Greg Good, and Patrick G.... all said that it will work with these heads... though not ideal.... I plan to change it. I switched up and went to the carb style after paying 400.00 for a L76 intake back in November...... I didnt like how restrictive the L76 was up top. If I was staying with the 6 speed I woulda kept the L76, but after switching to the TH400... It seemed like carb intake was the only way to go.
After a bit or weight reduction, better fuel setup, porting the single plane to match the heads, and another cam.... I am sure the car will pickup atleast another 20-40rwhp down the road and better ETs.
