Anyone with this setup on their 427?
427 Ls7 block with L92 heads and L76 intake with 257/266 110 lsa camshaft. I need to know if you have this combo if so what year is your car and how does it drive. Cannot seem to be able to get it running on the street worth a damn.

It runs like ****, the biggest issue is the 2800-3200 pop and spitting/ sputtering. Being told the cam is too big for this setup which might be so but I know there are others running this setup without issue and I would like to not have to swap out cams to correct it.

That's a big (huge) bump stick for street. I had a 265/269 in a 374 inch small block GT1 road race car, it would not pull the car in any gear below 3000 without jumping and bucking, push the clutch in. Floored, it pulled to 7800.

Launching!
that is a big cam but not to big for your cubes. i would look at the tune. its not going to run like a 224 cam but you should be able to get it to run smooth to at least 2000 i would think

Tune. If you can get your hands on EFILive with COSv5 (custom operating version 5), you can tune a VE table that is Throttle Position vs. RPM. With my 242/256, lift near .7" on both int/exh cam in my 427, I can drive in first gear all the way down to 1,000 rpms and it'll be smooth as stock. I was never even able to get my idle right until I was able to get my hands on the COS, its really something else.

The first cam I had in my 403/L92 build had 19 degrees of overlap and some drivability issues. None as bad as yours. I couldn't cruise below 2k. That after 2 very good tuners tried. My current cam has 13 degrees of overlap and the car drives like stock and I picked up RWHP/RWT and MPG.

You will have to do a lot of playing with the tune in the idle areas and where you're having your bucking issues. Different AFR's have different results, for me, an AFR of around 13.5-13.8 yielded me the best results. Anything above that, and I would get whip lash, anything below and she would want to stall.

Im running a 259/267@50 on a 115 in my 422 with great street manors. I drive the car quite a bit on the street with zero issues. It does try to buck a little until it warms up completely, after that it does great.

Actually, today is alot warmer and more humid than last weekend was when I got the car back. And believe it or not the car runs very well in this hot weather, I was amazed at how much better it is and more fun to drive. We are going to try to tune with a 100 mm MAF and see what happens, cause if I can get it to run like this all the time I will be very satisfied.
