Default what are the best rockers for the $$$

I am ordering some stuff for my 402 build and was wondering what some of your thoughts on rockers, and pushrods are. I am spending enough $$ on other things that i dont think i should toatally cheap out. Gunnar at Patriot told me my stockers would be fine. I found some threads that said that you could send your stockers in and have them fortified?? What does that involve, and where do you send them??. I will be running patriot heads stage 3 and a 610ish lift cam.

Look into either the yella terra or some comp pro magnum rockers. The comps are made of steel but are lighter at the valve than most aluminum rockers. Engine Masters magazine just did a story on them and had very nice results. Whatever you get make SURE they are adjustable.

Write in vote, Jesel. Not to say the other aren't good but I have had a set of these on my C5 for years without any issues.

My question is why not? The sewing machine sound talked about all the time is because of improper preload on the lifters. The closer you can get the preload dead set the more stable your valvetrain will be

I run Jesel Mohawks on both mine. 347 is a hyd roller and 445 is solid roller. Nothing wrong with the others, but I vote Jesel as they have never done me wrong.

Nothing wrong with rebuilt stockers. Those are the best bang for the buck.

The replace the needle bearings in them with better bearings that are less likely to puke on you.

OK what about the tip of the rocker? To prevent "scrub" across the top of the valve you need a roller tip for these aggressive lift cams. Essentially the stock rocker pulls the valve sideways when opening and closing it creating unstable valve events.

Stockers, if it aint broke don't fix it. To elaborate, if it's not hurting you, not likely to break, and you can't quantify your gains with a change, then leave 'em.

On the other hand, doing what you want and having piece of mind is priceless. If price is no object, then Jesel shaft mounted.

Out of the list you provided to vote from I'd say the yella terras. You can't argue with the Jesels though. They've been around for a long time and you can just look at their site and see who uses them. Granted they are really expensive.

^^^ One more with the scorpion vote. Very light at the tip and a very small whipe area.

Scorpion because of the quality/cost ratio. Fit under stock covers. Comp Pro Mags are high quality too, but cost more and use guide plates which means you have to invest nearly $200 more for a set of hardened pushrods. At that price point you might as well buy Jesel shaft mounts. NASCAR uses some Jesel parts so they have to be good. For under $400 the Scorpions are a no brainer.

what is the engine combination you are putting together? heads, intake, cam, etc...?? i would like to know that, before you dump big money on rockers, where it could be spent somewhere else to make your combo work more efficently for you. but if i had to vote: crane quick lifts.
