Default Timing chain and oil pump opinions

I am building a 455ci LS7 for the Firebird.

I would like to get your opinions on the best double roller LS2 chain.

Also which is the better oil pump, a ported LS6 or a Melling pump?

Are there any issues with any of the pumps or timing chains.

Dont they use the LS2 single chain in the C5R? I know I have seen posts around when i chose it about that being the case. Cant argue with 24 hrs of redline abuse with the best reliability in the entire series not to mention most amount of wins. Cant beat the price either. As for the oil pump the LS6 feeds many a monster motor on these boards

What he said is true..LS2 chain is very strong and the price is right too and has no clearance problems with what ever oil pump you choose...

The C5R chain is actually made by JWIS, and it is stronger than the GM spec LS2 chain.

You can take a little material out like SLP does to make it clear.

my melling required milling the front cover and near the seal penetration and the front plate on the pump itself. I had to clearance for the double roller as well on the back side. I WOULD NOT GET ANOTHER MELLING LS PUMP...period.
