Not to hijack the thread, but aren't stockers good to around 7K? That's plenty for my street stuff but I can understand the want/need to go higher.
It's amazing that a hydraulic roller can hit 8K. The only way to get close to that with the old school stuff I'm used to working on was with solid rollers!

Guess I've been misled. How high has anyone following this thread gotten stock HR lifters to rev?

I ran the Comp OEM replacement lifters to 7400 rpm.

I do believe I took out a stock lifter around 6900 rpm though.

I ran Comp R's for 2 seasons shifting at 7500rpm. I am goin gto try the CTSV listers next season. As for stockers, 01-Z aka The Juggernaut ran them up to 7200 with no issues going 9.91 with box stock FAST 90, box stock AFR 205's and the G5X4(Juggernaut) cam.

yeah GM did take the Racing lifter to 8000rpm , but what they fail to mention is that the ctv race car has titanium valves and proper weighted valvetrain. the average guy isnt going to have ti valves. i have run the gm race lifters, and still prefer the morels for high rpm use with heavier valves, because they can handle more spring pressure.

They can and will just fine if your stuff is right. We take them to 7400 on the regular, and have been 7800 with oem lifters.

im using the GM LS2/LS7 lifters part #12499225 here,, they are only $109 a set and when they come packaged the part number on the individual boxes is 17122490 that have a list price of over $35 each($560), so its a pretty good deal

Very valid point explained clearly...not an internet legend.

I do have titanium valves (exhaust & intake) in the new heads I will be installing.
