Default 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3L V8 dipstick issue

I am putting a 2005 L33 Gen 3 V8 (from a 2005 GMC Sierra) into a BMW. In the process of doing so, I found the only oil pan that would work was the one from the new 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3L Gen 4 motor. This is a new setup for '08.

I bought the pan, deflector/tray, pickup, dipstick tube, & stick new from Dal Slabaugh. All had the correct GM labels on them.

When I went to install everything, the pan, deflector, and pickup fit perfectly. The dipstick tube fits in the hole in the block and comes out about even with the bottom of the deflector/tray. The mounting bracket lines up with the bolt hole in the head. When the dipstick is inserted, it is more than normal effort to do so, and it does not come all the way out of the tube. This means when it shows full, the oil level would be above the deflector/tray, and this cannot be correct. I did line up the stick with the tube outside the tube & it is not being bent up inside- it is too short to come out.

I checked with Dal and he verified the numbers he sent me are correct for the application.

Has anyone else run into this putting a Gen 4 pan & parts onto a Gen 3 block? I am thinking the only thing I can do is to look at a 2008 Hummer H3 and see if the parts are the same.

As an alternative, I need to figure out where the oil level should be for this application & buy another dipstick that is a little longer.

Thanks for any help.

To quasi-answer my own question, I looked at a new H3 today & found my dipstick (PN 12603506) was the same, however the tube I received (PN 12563918) was different. I am trying to find out the correct PN for the tube for this motor.

No problem. I sold the BMW some time ago. As I recall, I ended up cutting and splicing two tubes. I don't have the info on that car anymore.
