402 ls2 build up, what cam with afr 205s?
I am waiting for a texas speed 402 ls2 shortblock to arrive.
This is going in my z06. I am having my afr 205s milled and hogged out. Ive heard of people making 520-540 with afr 205s and the right cam. Anybody have experience with this combo? I am trying to pick the right cam to get me into that area (have a ported fast 90 as well). I do like to drive the car a bit so driveability would be semi important.
I am also going to be running a 250 shot two stage nitrous set up as well.
fun times!

I'm doing a very similar setup to yours right now. It's a Lingenfelter 403 with Dragonslayer crank, Compstar Rods, and Mahle -12cc pistons. I am using a ported FAST 90/NW90, and Tony Mamo ported 205's. I am going with a 242/242 114 cam on a 112 ICL. Also, going with 11.5:1 with that cam. Going to go with my Jesel SS rockers. I also swapped my Kooks 1 3/4" headers for Kooks 1 7/8" headers. Keep in mind, I am staying NA until I get some more coin next year and put a nice alky injected FI setup on it. With 72cc heads of course.

Unfortunately due to Tony's schedule and winter fast approaching in New Jersey, I don't think I'll have it running for real unitl spring. So I don't have any numbers for you. I'm hoping for 500rwhp/480rwtq. Gotta remember the 4" stroke will cause the top end to run out of air sooner. But the torque is where he fun will be, especially on the street, or coming out of a corner and kicking it at an HPDE. 750rwhp and 800rwtq in your case would make it an animal.

Louis,
Thanks for the info. I appreciate your insight. I wouldnt mind considering another one of your cams. I bought my heads/cam/intake/longtubes off of you guys recently in May. I dont supose you guys do some kind of cam swap/credit thing where I send you my G5X3 cam for a little bit of store credit on another cam I buy from you guys?
Thanks
Dave

A cam along this line should work pretty well for you 232/242 or 238/248 on a 113+3. Just make sure to give your cam enough duration to clear out the extra burned gases from a 250 shot (aka on a N/A motor you only need to run a single pattern cam or 4 degrees more on the exh. side).

I'm running a TSP 402 in my Z06 with ETP215's and a G5X4. My car made 510/497 and has run a best of 10.76 @ 132mph with a 1.64 60' at 2000+ DA.
I'm extremely happy with my setup and it's "torquey" as hell!
