The one reason that comes to mind for wanting a standard LS2 cam in a stroker is to get a bit of added torque from the extra cubes & still retain stock driveability.

As far as the other questions you've posed - honestly, you'd be best served to Check some of the site's vendors, that's what I've been doing...

thats what i thought- he said he just wants extra cube's with standard factory standards-

i said to him it would be a waste-he said mainly for towing and a bit more go than the standard ls2-

thanks for the info

tried the search-for some reason it was not working-

mate

that things gonna peak at 5200rpm with a stock LS2 camshaft in 408; which is same specs as 2001 C5 Z06

Theirs better camshafts for that combination if you want 100% driveability and no lope

Even with a 402 ls2 motor you can throw in a 230's camshaft and have it drive like stock if thats what hes looking for......ask me how i know. In fact, that cam is for sale right now cause it was too small for all those cubic inches.

but its honestly a waste to go up to a 4xx cube motor and leave in a small cam and stock heads, it just wont get the airflow that it needs and it wont run any better than it would if he had just thrown a cam in the motor he has now

true a mild cam (even my 230 cam on stock cubes) drives better than stock IMO between the gears and a good tune its very easy and less expensive than buying a whole shortblock to put a cam in. as for buying a whole short block just for a bit more power, well its not very cost effective...if he wants more power and stock drivability buy an APS TT kit. same money (almost) as a shortblock and you get WAY more power and no difference in drivability (until boost kicks in)

That'd be sweet. I think the LQ4 block only goes up to what, 4.030" or if lucky 4.060" right? So it would take another block. What one goes to that bore other than the LSx? Does the L92? I think most of us hate the idea of building something and not getting every available cube out of it. I know that's why I went 408 over 370.

another option might just be to resleeve the stock block with dry sleeves, ported heads and a mild cam...that'd be a more inexpensive combo i think...maybe?
