Default Oil Pan Gasket LQ9 motor

Do most people use the one from GM or has anyone used a Felpro? I'm sure the Felpro would be less money, but want to make sure it will do the job. Comments welcome. Thanks

Really!! Did you redo the seam sealer in the corners for the front cover? The torque must be critical also. Allright I'll try it.

i have reused the timing cover and oil pan gaskets several times and i never used sealer at the corners and have not ever had a leak,, you could use a dab of sealer at the corners it isnt going to hurt anything

make sure you use the correct tools to align the oil pan and front cover, i have access to the gm gen 3 engine tool kit and use it every time to align the oil pan and front and rear covers.

i did not use the tools on mine and it does not leak. just use a ruler and measure all around. it was cheaper to buy the oil pan gasket from an online gm parts house than getting a felpro from an auto store.
