Default ZO6 yellow springs on L-92 heads

Can I use the yellow springs on my stock L-92 heads without using dif retainers or locks? The reason I ask is I read somewhere on here that the installed height would be 1.75 instead of 1.8" because of a .050 spring seat.
Can I leave the seat off or use a thinner spring shim.

I'm using a 02 ZO6 cam for now.I know there are better cams and springs I'm just trying to use what I have on hand to get the car up and running and will upgrade down the road Thanks

you will have to measure, my l92's measures 1.78" installed height so not too far off. the yellow springs suck(yes they are cheap), i wore out a set in 1 summer of driving with a hotcam running all the time to 6500 rpm,, then it started having valve float,, i changed to pac 1218 springs and no more valve float

My LS3 heads came with yellow springs. Same casting as the L92 heads.
